Great benefits (like work-life balance)

The considerable benefits offered at many local agencies—health care, retirement plans, paid time and holidays off, training, and wellness programs—can be worth their weight in gold and offset the higher hourly wage that some private companies pay. And work-life balance is valued at these employers.

Occasionally, public emergencies will require an exceptional response—your transportation team and community might need you to help get things moving after a storm, for instance. A career with a local agency means working close to home—not days on end miles and miles away. You have time to spend with your friends and family to do the things you enjoy while off the clock. Plan for your future while living a full life and pursuing rewarding work today!
