About MnLTAP | Minnesota LTAP

The Minnesota Local Technical Assistance Program (MnLTAP) is all about improving local agency skills and sharing transportation knowledge, innovation, and best practices. We are part of a network of LTAP centers nationwide that support county, city, township, and tribal personnel. State transportation departments, industry, contractors, and consultants also use our resources.

Mission & Overview

The mission of MnLTAP is to improve the skills and knowledge of local transportation agencies through training, technical assistance, and technology transfer. Ultimately, MnLTAP's goal is to foster a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound transportation system.

Launched in 1992, MnLTAP conducts workshops and seminars, conferences, customized training, demonstrations, and distance learning. In addition, MnLTAP publishes newsletters and maintains a website with extensive resources.

MnLTAP is a member-center of the Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) and Tribal Technical Assistance Program (TTAP). This network has 58 member-centers—one in every state and Puerto Rico plus regional centers serving tribal governments. The LTAP/TTAP centers enable local counties, parishes, townships, cities, and towns to improve their roads and bridges by supplying them with a variety of training programs, an information clearinghouse, new and existing technology updates, personalized technical assistance, and newsletters.

MnLTAP is also part of the National Local Technical Assistance Program Association (NLTAPA). NLTAPA is a not-for-profit organization representing and serving the 58 LTAP and TTAP member-centers in the United States and Puerto Rico.
