Minnesota Snow and Ice Control: Field Handbook for Snowplow Operators

The purpose of this handbook, revised in 2022, is to help promote the understanding of the tools, best practices, and limitations for snow and ice control. In addition, it encourages progressive changes in snow and ice control practices that will help you reduce salt/sand use and environmental impacts while meeting the safety and mobility needs of roadway users.

Pedestrian Crossings: Uncontrolled Locations Guidebook

This guidebook is designed to assist local agencies in their efforts to evaluate uncontrolled pedestrian crossings and determine appropriate treatment options using an 11-step evaluation procedure. The guidebook helps agencies rate a crossing for pedestrian service, and accompanying worksheets aim to assist with data collection and decision making.
