A new set of online Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training modules are now available on MnLTAP's CDL resource page. The training is designed to help agencies fulfill the theory portion of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) regulations. These regulations require entry-level drivers to successfully complete a program of both theory and behind-the-wheel instruction before taking their CDL test.

The CDL page also features new step-by-step information that aims to help managers and supervisors at Minnesota local agencies identify and provide ELDT-compliant training for their staff.

The new online modules are specifically intended for staff who need to obtain an initial Class B CDL, upgrade from a Class B CDL to a Class A CDL, or obtain the hazardous materials endorsement for the first time. Supervisory or training staff from the local agency must request access to the modules in order to provide them to staff.
