About the Training

This Commercial Driver's License (CDL) theory training includes 30 online modules on a variety of topics. It was developed by the AASHTO Clear Roads Technical Service Program to comply with the Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) regulations from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. These regulations require entry-level drivers to successfully complete a program of theory and behind-the-wheel instruction prior to taking the CDL test.

The training modules have been customized by MnDOT for use in Minnesota. Local agencies must use a registered training provider when offering the training to their staff.
