About the Series

Project bundling is a procurement process where a single contract is used for the rehabilitation or replacement of multiple projects. This series focuses solely on bridge bundling projects. It is based on the FHWA’s Bridge Bundling Guidebook.

The training supports local and tribal agency personnel who are considering project bundling. Topics covered include defining successful project bundling programs, goals and objectives, funding and financing, risk assessment, work types, project delivery methods, environmental review and preliminary design, quality assurance, and close-out.

The U.S. transportation system is aging, with agencies seeing an ever-increasing number of bridges that need immediate attention. Project bundling is a proven practice that streamlines preliminary engineering, design, contracting, and/or construction; allows agencies to increase efficiency; and supports greater collaboration during project delivery and construction. This series provides information and a how-to process for agencies considering project bundling for all funding sources.

The series includes a combination of four courses. Each course has its own certificate of completion, and you may choose to complete the course(s) most relevant to you.
