About the Events
Writing to Get Things Done®
Back by popular demand! Writing to Get Things Done® focuses on improving productivity - using writing as a powerful tool for getting things done. Productivity soars when people clearly communicate what needs to get done and when. This is not a remedial program for "problem writers." Instead, participants will learn how to write quickly and effectively, saving time for themselves and their readers. This workshop is a must for anyone whose job requirements include effective written communication: email, reports, social media posts, memos, and more.
Verbal Judo
We have all been in situations where emotions and tempers have made us uncomfortable. Verbal Judo teaches a gentle approach to being in control of situations wtihout creating stress, frustration and continued conflict, while treating everyone with dignity and respect. Participants will learn practical de-escalation solutions that work when under pressure as instructor Mark Chiarolanza covers situations public works employees may encounter, with specific examples on how to effectively manage these interactions. This workshop will provide important de-escalation tools for everyone whose work requires interactions with other people.
