MnLTAP is administered by the University of Minnesota’s Center for Transportation Studies (CTS). To commemorate its launch four decades ago, the Center will be celebrating milestones from its history throughout 2026.
CTS started the Minnesota Technology Transfer (T2) Program in 1992. Later renamed as the Minnesota Local Technical Assistance Program, MnLTAP has grown to be a training and career development cornerstone for Minnesota transportation professionals as well as a hub for sharing innovation and technology between agencies.
"CTS at 40" includes videos, research projects, reflections, a timeline of milestones, and other highlights. In one feature, CTS leaders past and present hold a candid roundtable discussion about the Center’s evolution through programs and partnerships—including MnLTAP.
