Signs of the Times: What’s New in the MN MUTCD 11th Edition
About the Webinar
The 11th edition of the Minnesota Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MN MUTCD) was published in October 2025, 14 years after the previous edition. The new edition features substantial updates that reflect both national revisions and Minnesota-specific adaptations. It goes into effect on January 18, 2026.
This webinar will provide an overview of the most significant changes to the MN MUTCD, including updates to signing, pavement markings, traffic signals, and temporary traffic control. It will also explain how the requirement for substantial conformance with the National MUTCD influenced the development of Minnesota’s version.
Speaker
Tiffany Kautz has more than 20 years of experience at the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), with a strong background in traffic engineering and standards development. For the past six years, she has served as the traffic standards engineer in MnDOT’s Office of Traffic Engineering. In this role, Kautz led Minnesota’s effort to rewrite the Minnesota Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, working closely with stakeholders across the state to develop a document that is practical, relevant, and reflective of our state's needs.
