A Clear Roads project produced case studies and recommendations on the use of alternative methods for deicing. The final report is intended to be used as a reference guide for winter maintenance operators and managers and includes resources and contact information to allow for direct follow-up.
One section in the report explains how to do a lot with a little, or how to identify and implement easy, low-cost improvements. Another section shows how to bring out the big guns or make larger investments. Both of these sections provide examples, identify the pros and cons of each, and review the challenge of going from being good at something to great. Training resources are also provided.
