How do Roads Scholars get their start, and what inspires them to go the extra mile? MnLTAP is pleased to share the journeys of recent graduates. This month, we meet Dave Adams, sanitary sewer crew chief, City of Maplewood. He earned the Leadership, Supervisory, and Operations Management certificate.

How did you get interested in public works?

I grew up with my uncle and dad working in the street department for a city. I worked a few years seasonally in the utility department and enjoyed the work.

How has your job changed over the years?

Technology has become a big aspect of the job.

What do you do for fun/hobbies?

I enjoy spending time at our family cabin, fishing, hunting, and relaxing on the lake. I also enjoy drag racing and visiting local midwestern tracks. I attend Gopher football and hockey games too.
