Clear Roads project creates standard protocol for testing snowplow blades

A variety of factors can affect a snowplow blade’s long-term performance, making it difficult for an agency to determine which blades are the most cost-effective overall. A recent Clear Roads project investigated different snowplow blades and developed a test protocol for evaluating and selecting blades. Winter maintenance managers will be able to use the new protocol in the field. The Quick Reference Guide developed in the project summarizes the features and specifications of each blade along with key field test results.
