The online Pavement Marking Decision Tree helps agencies understand their options and determine which pavement marking material to consider for a new surface or when replacing existing markings with a different material. The LRRB-funded tool asks questions to drill down to what you need, then links to the appropriate resources.
The tree starts with a basic question: Is the air and pavement temperature above 40 degrees F? Then, you’ll be prompted with questions about whether you’re installing longitudinal lines or transverse messages, what your surface type is, expected service life, and much more.
The guide also includes a chapter with descriptions and links to pavement-marking resources from the LRRB, MnDOT, and other organizations.
